What a competition! 2022 Results

The EPIC Productions team had an amazing time at this year’s national competition in Wesley Chapel, Fl. Congratulations to all our skaters, coaches, and parents!

Want to see EP in action? Videos of the ensembles’ performances are linked at the bottom of this post.

EP put four ensembles on the ice, and 17 skaters also performed individual and duet events.

Our large production “Sweet Dreams” gave a terrific performance, and well done to all for getting that giant spinning bed constructed and spinning gracefully on the ice! Your 5th place win made a great showing against the top-notch competition this year. And big congratulations to the “Something Rotten” mini for making the podium at 4th place! This is the first time we’ve ever had a mini other than the senior minis make the podium!

Also, five skaters received medals for individual programs: Sadie Coatman (4th) and Sofia Cann (3rd) in Open Juve Comedic Impressions; Grace Carpenter (2nd) in Intermediate Interpretive; Brooklyn King (3rd) in Novice Comedic Impressions; and Rowan Martey, Senior Choreographic Artistry (2nd), Lyrical Pop (3rd), and Interpretive (4th). Rowan was also part of the first Showcase adaptive duet/trio collaborative routine with Rob Hanley & Sofia Daley (of University of Denver), coached by Lisa Moore.

We extend deep gratitude to our brilliant coaches and parents, including financial wizard Melody King, fundraising miracle-worker Alison Coatman, travel sage Monica Dougherty, and props expert Maria Miller. Special thanks to our amazing “Team B” on-site props team, including Rudy Schuster, Ron Miller, Chuck Hamdan, Nii Martey, Stacy Morse, and honorary member Bob Gleason for their masterful carpentry and problem-solving.

Our own Brooklyn in her fabulous bee costume is now featured on the USFS Showcase website homepage!

This year’s skater leadership was a resounding success! You all stepped up and made a real difference in rehearsals and preparation for the events. Thank you to Team Captains Brooklyn, Grace, Melina, and Emily, and to Co-Captains Sofia, Megan, and Claudia. Anya and Lauren on costumes and Addie, Zoe, Nour, and Mayley on promotion made us look terrific! Rocio and Anya were rehearsal assistants-in-training under the EP senior rehearsal assistant Rowan Martey. You all should be very proud of your hard work.

The whole team also thanks the amazing staff at the Hampton Inn of Wesley Chapel where we all stayed. They really went above and beyond to welcome, support, and cheer us!
