It’s almost time to start the summer rehearsals for EP, which are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 7:00 – 8:15, on ice. There’s a short off-ice warm-up in the first 10 minutes (7:00 – 7:10), so please be sure to arrive on time, wearing sneakers and exercise clothes.
Summer rehearsal schedule starts on Tuesday, June 6th.
Summer rehearsals are often large on Tues/Thurs, and minis on Wednesdays, although session content might change depending on the needs of the week. All skaters must attend all rehearsals, but we do understand that summers bring travel and other obligations.
Be sure to fill out the EP 2023 Skater Trips and Vacations form to indicate when your planned absences are (link available on Slack). If you must be absent for other reasons, be sure to let coaches know 24 hours in advance via a direct message on Slack, a text message, or an email.
We have a policy of 8 rehearsal (on or off-ice) absences (excused or unexcused) and 2 late arrivals for the summer; 4 late arrivals count as 1 absence (see the EP Handbook for details). We are so grateful for your attention and efforts this summer! If you do have to miss rehearsal, be sure to reach out to the coaches to schedule a private session to learn the content you missed.
You’ll be working hard, but summer is also for fun! We’ll have a fundraising garage sale on June 10th, our annual Lake Party on July 2, and our public performance exhibition on July 23rd from 4:15 – 6:15. We’ll practice from 4:15 – 5:00, and then the public will be invited to watch us from 5:15 – 6:15.
We’ll also be scheduling crystalling parties for the minis and another one for the large so you can make your costumes sparkle! We’ll provide the materials, and we’ll teach you how and where to apply the crystals on your costumes. Those parties will be held at the Team Manager’s house; keep an eye out on Slack for messages about scheduling.
You can see everything we have planned on our Schedule page on this site.
Also, be sure to check Slack for updates on travel plans, including the link for the hotel. You should have your hotel room booked, but we’re waiting on the host club before we buy plane tickets. See the previous post on this site for some money-saving tips for travel, too!
Congratulations to our graduating seniors!
We’re so proud of you!
Have a great summer everyone!
